We are partners with the earth and we are partners with one another.

The Mindful Gardens Project℠ (MGP) brings garden design and mindfulness practice together to fuel our connection to the earth, to ourselves, and to one another, helping us build healthy communities as we grow healthy food.

Each of us…

…has the right to enough food and to healthy food. With areas of limited fresh food access and poverty on the rise, all the more so with COVID-19 stretching our budgets, there is deep value in teaching people to grow gardens and community simultaneously. We do this through the inclusion of mindfulness practice into our garden projects. Gardens provide a source of food, and mindfulness empowers self-reliance as it builds kind and compassionate connection with self and others.

Furthermore…

…the skills of gardening and mindfulness can transform our communities through increasing health and well being while facilitating kind and caring conversations in our towns and cities.

In addition…

…to the benefits of Mindfulness Practice, gardening has been found to release stress and increase self-esteem, boost the immune system, provide great exercise, and decrease depression. All of these are healing tools for ourselves and our planet as we begin to emerge from our pandemic-stricken lives.
